American Vietnam War issued Ka-Bar knife "Conetta"
The Conetta Manufacturing Company was located in Stamford, Connecticut and only made the Mk II Ka-Bar during the Vietnam War, between 1968 and 1970.
Conetta knives are among the rarest of Vietnam War issued Ka-Bar.
The 180mm Bowie blade has a flat spine above a short single fuller and terminates in a double-edged clip point. The ricasso is deeply stamped with the maker’s details, “US” over “Conetta.”
The blade is in good used condition, retaining most of its blackened finish. There are some small patches of very shallow pitting that cannot be felt when running a finger over the blade. The factory machining marks are clearly evident and the blade retains a sharp fighting edge.
The contoured grip is made of stacked leather rings threaded onto the tang, The grip is in generally good condition with age and use-related wear. The leather rings remain tight and firm.
The knife is complete with its black leather sheath. The leather is in good condition and the stitching remains strong and tight. The Ka-Bar sheathes and draws smoothly and sits firmly within the sheath by the press-stud retaining loop.
This is a good example of a scarce Conetta made Vietnam War Mk II Ka-Bar.

From the day of their inception, these bits of metal hold the important responsibility of helping to get fallen soldiers home again should the worst happen while in active duty.
