This is just a few of the veterans I met during the Normandy 2004 (60th) commemorations.
Jake McNiece
506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, United States Army private first class in World War 2, a member of the Filthy Thirteen, whose exploits inspired the novel and movie The Dirty Dozen. McNiece finished the war with four combat jumps including Normandy and Market Garden.
Jack Agnew

Earl "One Lung'' McClung
506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division Staff Sergeant McClung was one of the 140 original members of the famous Easy Company.
His exploits captured in the HBO miniseries

Bob Bearden
Robert Bearden served with the U.S. Army 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in the Normandy invasion, D-Day, June 6, 1944. One of the last to jump on D-Day, Bearden’s unit had lost the element of surprise. He was wounded twice and eventually captured by the Nazis and held as a prisoner until the end of the war.
